Finance Director Justin Merritt
The City of Shelby’s Finance Department consists of four divisions. They are Customer Services, Purchasing, Information Systems, and Finance.
Customer Services is the main point of contact for most of our four utilities customers. They are located in City Hall at 300 South Washington Street. They are responsible for setting up new accounts for utility customers. They prepare and collect utility bills for all our utility customers and handle any billing or collections concerns. They also bill and collect for privilege licenses and local liquor licenses. Meter reading is also a part of this division and they read approximately 30,000 utility meters a month so that correct utility bills can be sent out to our customers.
