Sunday, August 10th

SHELBY-12 VS ROCKY MOUNT NATIONAL-2

Grant Byers was the winning pitcher allowing 1 hit and striking out 9 for Shelby. Thomas Weaver, Ben Gold and Jackson Mims led Shelby at the plate with 2 hits each. Byers, Luke Hayek, Will Bryant and Jalen Byrd also had hits for Shelby. Khali Macklin had the only hit for Rock Mount National.

SHELBY-7 ROCKY MOUNT NATIONAL-5

Garrett Gamble picked up the win for Shelby in the Championship Game. Chandler Young came in the 5th inning for the save. Thomas Weaver, Jackson Mims, Will Bryant and Gamble led Shelby at the plate with 2 hits each. Jarren Byrd, Jacob Hamrick, Grant Byers and Bradford Lail also had a hit each for Shelby. David Williams and Ben Yates each had 2 hits to lead Rocky Mount National.

Shelby to host 2008 Little Tar Heel League State Tournament

Shelby City Park is the proud host of the 2008 Little Tar Heel League State Tournament Thursday, August 7 through Sunday, August 10. A total of 8 teams, including the host team Shelby, from across the state will compete in this exciting double elimination tournament.

Thursday, August 7th

3:00PM Coach's & Umpire Meeting (Aquatics Conference Room)

5:00PM Opening Ceremonies (Arky Arakelian Baseball Field)

6:00PM Shelby-14 vs Williamston-8

Winning Pitcher:Jackson Mims,Garrett Gamble had 3 hits including a Homerun and Jalen Byrd and Chandler Young had 2 hits each and Grant Byers and Will Bryant and Ben Gold and Bradford Lail had 1 hit each and Thomas Weaver had a Homerun to lead Shelby Allstars. Lawrence Smith had 3 hits including a Homerun and Donovan Brown had 2 hits including a Homerun Brandon Chesson and Zacvh Howell and Kyle Leggett and D.J. Beach had 1 hit each to pace Williamston.

6:00PM Siler City-11 vs Clayton-1

Winning Pitcher:Zack Burke, Taylor Dowd had 2 hits and Josh Hudson and Hunter Causey each had a Homerun to lead Siler City. Jay Homick had a Homerun to pace Clayton.

8:00PM Wendell-5 vs Erwin-12

Winning Pitcher: Dillon Stewart, Stewart also had 3 hits including a Homerun. Tyler Tendall and Scott Norris had 2 hits each and Nicholas Parker and Trent Fennell and T.J. Byrd had 1 hit each to lead Erwin. Avery Ferguson had 1 hit and Luke Jones and David Mitchell each had a Homerun to pace Wendell.

8:00PM Hickory-5 vs Rocky Mount National-8

Winning Pitcher:David Williams, Chase Roupp had 2 Homeruns and Tyler Barrow had a Homerun to lead Rocky Mount National. Andrew Tysinger and Conner Smith had 1 hit each to pace Hickory.

Friday, August 8th

4:00PM Siler City-5 vs Rocky Mt. National-7

Winning Pitcher: Khalil Macklin, Macklin also had 3 hits and Tyler Barrow had 2 hits including a Grandslam. and David Williams and Chase Roupp and Linwood Jones had 1 hit each to lead

Williamston. David Dowd had 3 hits including a Homerun and Hunter Causy had 2 hits including a Homerun and Jackson Goodwin and Trey Lineberry had 1 hit each topace Siler City.

4:00PM Shelby-18 vs Erwin-2

Winning Pitcher: Bradford Lail, Grant Byers had 3 hits and Garrett Gamble had 2 hits including a Homerun and Chandler Young and Thomas Weaver had 2 hits each and Jackson Mims and Bradford Lail had a Homerun each. And Jalen Byrd and Jarren Byrd Jacob Hamrick and Ben Gold and Luke Hayek had 1 hit each to lead Shelby. Tyler Tyndall and Dillon Stewart and Adam Britt and Caleb Brown had 1 hit each to pace Erwin.

Winning Pitcher:Kenneth Collins, Corey Poole had 5 hits and James Ferez had 3 hits and Kenneth Collins and Butler Collins and Shane Dupree had 2 hits each and Cody Daniels had a Homerun and Hogan Teem and Christian Tilley and Avery Johnson had 1 hit each to lead Clayton. Daniel Barkley had 3 hits and Drew Rhoney had 2 hits and Andrew Tysinger and Reece Williams had 1 hit each to pace Hickory.

Winning Pitcher:Zach Howell, Lawrence Smith had 3 hits including a Homerun and Whit Ross had 3 hits and Donavan Brown had 2 hits and Ziree Rodgers had 2 hits including a Homerun to lead Williamston. Brock Waynick had 2 hits including a Homerun and Luke Jones Dalyn Fallmer had 2 hits each to pace Wendall.

8:00PM Erwin-2 vs Clayton-4

4:00PM Williamston-6 vs Clayton-13

Winning Pitcher:Cody Daniels, Jay Homick and Butler Collins each had a Grandslam. and Kenneth Collins had 2 hits to lead Clayton. Brandon Chesson had 2 hits and Whit Ross and Donovan Brown and D.J. Beach and Zach Howell and Cole Woodard had 1 hit each to pace Williamston.
