$$$ Dolllar Day Weekends to celebrate the great year at Shelby Aquatics Center. $1 admission August 28 & 29 and September 4, 5 & 6.

Shelby Aquatics center opened in June of 1996 and is one of the premier swimming facilities in the South. The Ten Lane Olympic size pool has a rim flow system without gutters, automatically maintained chemical system, a Colorado Timing System, a three-meter diving board and a one-meter board over the deep end. A teaching/training pool was also completed for small children and teaching swim lessons. A covered picnic pavilion, full kitchen/concession area and bathhouse are also a part of the pool area. Each year thousands of people use this facility, which is open to the public from Memorial Day to Labor Day. In July, 2010 the Last Chance Qualifier drew 671 swimmers making it the largest swim meet ever.

Water Aerobics and Lap Swim

Classes will move to Shelby Aquatics Center on Tuesday, May 29- Thursday August 19.  Classes will meet in the morning from 11:30-12:15 pm.  Lap Swim will go until 12:45 pm.  Cost:  $1.00  We will also have evening water aerobics and lap swim on Tuesday and Thursday evernings from 6:00-6:45 pm. starting Tuesday June 8. Lap swim will go until 7:00 pm.  Cost is $1.00.

Swim Buddies

Swim Buddies is for children 10 years and under accompanied bya parent/ adult guardian.  Child and Adult must have proper swimming attire and remain in the training pool.  This program begins June 1 - August 19 and is offered weekly Monday through Thursday from 11:30 am until 12:45 pm.  No pre registration is reguired and cost is $1.00 per child or Punch Pass of 8 for $8.  This program is intended to make the training pool available for parents to work with their children in a less crowded environment than during pool operation hours.

Classes Available are:  One on One Lessons and Group Lessons:  These classes are for a mature 4 year old or over and be accompanied by an adult to participate in all classes.  Bathing suits are required.  One on one Lessons meet Monday and Wednesday only...Morning classes 9:00-9:40 and evening classes 6:30-7:10 pm and 7:20-8:00 pm.  Group lessons meet Monday - Thursday...Morning classes only:  9:50-10:30am or 10:40-11:20 am.  Each of the classes are for two weeks.  1st session is weeks of June 14 & June 21; 2nd session is weeks of June 28 & July 5; 3rd session is July 12 & July 19; 4th session is July 26& August 2.  Cost:  One on one lessons is for city resident $30 per session and $40 all others.  Group lessons are city resident $20 and $30 for all others.

Mom-n-tot classes:  These classes will meet two nights a week for a two week session.  The classes will be held on Monday and Thursday the first and second sessions and Tuesday and Thursday the third and fourth sessions.  1st session is weeks of June 14& June 21; 2nd session is weeks of June 28& July 5; 3rd session is July 12& 19; 4th session is weeks of July 26 & August 2.  Times:  5:45-6:15 pm for infants 6 months- 18 months.  6:30-7:00 pm for children 19 months- 3 years old.  Cost:  City resident $30 per session and $40 all others. 

Please make sure you sign up as soon as possible.  Space is limited.  Please note:  You must pay for swimming lessons a week before your lesson starts plus fill out the registration form.  This will reserve your lesson time.
