PURPOSE
Recognizing the value of the arts & their impact, the Public Art Advisory Board (PAAB) seeks to expand the City's Public Art Program, established in 2021. PAAB recommends actions related to the acquisition, loan, placement, maintenance, display, and disposal of the City's public artworks and related arts programming.

DUTIES
- Make recommendations to City Council related to public art
- Monitor adherence to the Public Art Plan
- Develop a procedure for selection of public art & artists
- Review new art program opportunities & set priorities for implementation
- Develop a diverse, varied funding strategy
- Recommend accepting gifts of money & art to City Council
- Recruit volunteers for Review Committees and board service
- Review & evaluate deaccession requests
- Inventory and assess condition of Public Art Collection
CURRENT MEMBERS
The Board is comprised of seven (7) members, including two art professionals, two general seats, one representative of the Cleveland County Arts Council, one representative of the Keep Shelby Beautiful Commission, and one youth representative as of August 16, 2021, each serving three (3) year terms.
