Welcome to the Shelby Police Department webpage. We hope that you find it helpful. It is designed to give you pertinent and up-to-date information about your law enforcement agency.
The Shelby Police Department is comprised of eighty-nine full-time personnel and twenty part-time personnel who serve the citizens and guests of Shelby in sworn and non-sworn capacities. The Shelby Police Department 9-1-1 Communications Center is responsible for answering and processing emergency 9-1-1 calls placed within the city.
The Shelby Police Department operates under a community-based policing philosophy. Our staff is dedicated to the citizens we serve, and they work diligently to reduce crime and make Shelby one of the safest cities in North Carolina.
