The Brown Emergency Training Center is a comprehensive training and educational facility that serves the public safety training needs for Cleveland and surrounding counties. Located on approximately 4 acres on the campus of the Cleveland Community College, the center is consistently listed among the top performing emergency training centers in North Carolina.  The center offers comprehensive certification  programs for public safety professionals in firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical disciplines, an annual fire and rescue college, and a basic firefighter recruit academy.  The facilities include classrooms, a live fire burn building, a four story multi-discipline training building, and fire & rescue training props. The Battalion Chief of Emergency Management & Professional Development serves as the Fire & Rescue Departments staff liaison to the staff at the Brown Emergency Training Center.
