Safe Kids-Safe Community

The Fire & Rescue Department is a partnering agency with Safe- Kids Cleveland County.  The local cooperative  is led by Cleveland Healthcare Foundation and is part of Safe-Kids Worldwide.  The local safe-kids program provides dedicated and caring staff, operation support and other resources to promote safety and accident prevention among children. Based on the needs of the community, this coalition implements evidence-based programs, such as car-seat checkups, safety workshops and sports clinics, that help parents and caregivers prevent childhood injuries.   The Fire Marshal's Office coordinates the safe-kids initiatives in the department.  All City of Shelby fire stations serve as child safety seat inspection stations.

Have questions about childhood injury prevention, or need a child safety seat inspected? Please contact our Fire Marshal's Office.
