The North Carolina State Firefighters Association (NCSFA) serves more than 50,000 firefighters, with communication, defined benefits, and programs. Each year, the NCSFA holds it's South Atlantic Fire-Rescue Expo, the East Coast's largest firefighter conference and trade show. Chartered in 1887 the association has grown to become the largest state firefighters association in the US.
The North Carolina Association of Fire Chiefs (NCAFC) exists to provide North Carolina's fire service leaders with advocacy, networking and education opportunities enabling them to better serve their local communities. The NCAFC was organized in 1932 and serves the state's career and volunteer chief officers.http://wncaff.com/
The Western North Carolina Association of Firefighters (WNCAFF) is one of three regional firefighter associations in North Carolina serving nearly 400 volunteer and career fire departments in western North Carolina. The WNCAFF holds representation on both the NCSFA and NCAFC executive boards.
The Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) is a section within the North Carolina Department of Insurance (NCDOI) and comprises six divisions of responsibility; engineering and codes, manufactured building, risk management, fire and rescue training & inspections, the fire and rescue commission, and, programs, prevention & grants. The North Carolina Commissioner of Insurance serves as the State Fire Marshal.
