Emergency management is coordinated through the Fire Marshal's Office and involves planning for a variety of situations or events that could possibly affect the city and its residents, and then developing contingencies to help mitigate their effects.  The office is directly responsible for analyzing risk and working with other city department and first responder agencies in developing collaborative approaches should a crisis or a large scale disaster occur in the community.
