Code Enforcement enforces the City of Shelby Code of Ordinance. Common nuisances code enforcement officers look for are:
- High grass, weeds, undergrowth/vegetation
- Accumulation of animal or vegetable matter, solid wastes, or stagnant water
Accumulation of trash, furniture, and/or non-building material item
Junk/inoperative vehicles
Vacant, open, abandoned and/or dilapidated buildings/structures
If high grass/weeds exceeding 18 inches in height; abandoned structures that are a health or safety hazard; accumulation of solid waste; or any condition detrimental to the public health can be reported to Code Enforcement.
